Our work is centered on prevention vs intervention. We are a youth development organization that focuses on family development, providing guidance, support, and nurture to families, specifically those of color. We promote lifestyle changes that support improved educational outcomes, improved health, and wellness. Furthermore, participants make better decisions while also inspiring community advocacy and engagement from youth and parents alike.

Studies show that children who enjoy the support of an active father figure display better decision-making skills, are more likely to achieve academically and do better in the workplace as adults—all of which contribute to the lowered risk of involvement in the criminal justice system.

FAST seeks to aid in the creation of these bonds by supporting fathers to be present, positive, and active, positioning our youth to become active and able participants in community life as they reach adulthood.

Our primary focus is to empower fathers to develop their sons. This sustains families and strengthens our communities.

Unfortunate statistics of fatherless homes affect our communities. We encourage all male figures/uncles, grandfathers, coaches, and mom's to join our program as mentors

• It is the vision of FAST to strengthen our families and communities through the relationship between a father and son by encouraging leadership, responsibility, and accountability.

• It is the vision of FAST to connect our fathers and sons to a positive vision of themselves for their future by connecting them with other positive fathers and sons to enjoy forums, activities, seasonal local sporting events, and performances designed with them in mind. You are what you see.

 

• Each participant completes a symbolic commitment pledge as a public acknowledgment of love and support to each other. It also consists of principles and guidelines to assist in fostering positive relationships between a father and son.

When you teach your son, you teach your son's son.
